Spits start new winning streak, beat Greyhounds 7-4

A new winning streak is alive and well.

Eric Wellwood enjoyed a career game Friday with a career-high four goals as the Spitfires grabbed a 7-4 win over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds at the Essar Centre.  Wellwood completed a hat trick in the first period and added his fourth in the second period.

Kenny Ryan secured his first OHL goal while Harry Young and Scott Timmins added Spitfire goals to the scoresheet. Greg Nemisz lead in the assists department with three helpers while Cam Fowler and Richard Panik each had two assists.  With 26 saves, Goaltender Troy Passingham notched his league-leading 12th victory.

The Spitfires head to Saginaw to battle the Spirit in their first meeting of the season on Saturday.
