(Owen Sound) The Windsor Spitfires have now won five games in a row following their 8-4 victory over the Owen Sound Attack. Taylor Hall lead the way with three goals and one assist while Scott Timmins added three goals including the game winner.
The Spitfires took a commanding lead, scoring the first four goals of the game. Hall opened the scoring at the 4:51 mark with a powerplay marker. Eric Wellwood extended the Spitfires lead midway through the opening period with newly acquired defenceman Paul Bezzo gaining his first point as a Spitfire. Timmins and Hall extended the Spitfires lead with their 14th and seventh goals of the season respectively.
Marcus Carroll put the Attack on the board with back to back second period goals, his seventh and eighth goals of the season cutting the Spitfires lead in half. The Spitfires responded scoring two more goals before the end of the second period. Timmins netted his second goal of the game while rookie Austin Brassard scored his third goal of the season.
The Attack and the Spitfires traded third period goals with each team scoring two apiece. The Attack had goals from Grant McGee and Miles Down. Timmins and Hall scored third period goals giving them both hat tricks on the evening.
The Spitfires have won five in a row and eight of their past nine games The Spitfires have a league best record of 11-3-0-1 with 23 points in 15 games this season.
Troy Passingham saved 26 of 30 shots en route to his 10th win of the season.
