Ellis Signs Contract with Predators – provided courtesy of Jim Parker, Windsor Star A bad wrist might keep Windsor Spitfires defenceman Ryan Ellis off the ice, but he can still put pen to paper. A trip to Nashville Monday gave the Predators a chance to look at Ellis’s bad wrist while at the same time inking the club’s first-round pick in June to a three-year, entry-level contract. No financial terms were released. A tighter rookie salary cap in the last collective bargaining agreement sees entry-level players restricted to a maximum of $850,000 per year, with strict limits on bonuses.
