
(Windsor) Right-winger Justin Shugg is the Windsor Spitfires Player of the Week as selected by the Spitfires coaching staff for the week ending Sunday, September 27th. Shugg scored four goals and recorded six points with a +3 plus/minus rating in three games this past week, leading the Spitfires to a perfect 3-0 record. Shugg had a five point night on the strength of a three goal, two assist performance and also scored the game winning goal en route to being named the first star in Windsor’s 8-3 win over the Erie Otters on September 24. The following night, he was held off the scoresheet as the Spitfires defeated the Guelph Storm 5-2 and he scored one goal in Windsor’s 6-3 victory against the Owen Sound Attack on September 26. Shugg, a 17 year-old native of Niagara Falls, ON has four goals and four assists for eight points in four games this season and is eligible for the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. The Spitfires will be playing their next three games on the road as they travel to Ottawa to face the 67’s this Friday at 7:30 p.m. before taking on the Belleville Bulls on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. They will conclude their eastern road swing as they face the Kingston Frontenacs on Sunday at 2 p.m..
