(Ottawa) The Spitfires weekend road trip started on a sour note Friday night, as the Ottawa 67’s responded with three unanswered goals in the third period to beat the Spits 4-3. Cam Fowler led the way for the Spitfires with one goal and two assists while Cody Lindsay led the 67’s with one goal and one assist. The 67’s jumped out of the gate early with Cody Lindsay scoring the game’s first goal just 32 seconds into the opening period, his first goal of the season. The Spitfires would respond on their first power play of the evening with Adam Henrique scoring his third goal of the season. The assists were awarded to Fowler and Greg Nemisz. The Spitfires extended their lead in the second period with back to back power play markers. Then, at the 9:13 mark, Scott Timmins would make his return felt with his second goal of the season. The assists were awarded to Richard Panek and Fowler and gave the Spitfires a solid 3-1 midway through the second period. The third period would prove to be all 67’s, as they would beat goaltender Troy Passingham with three even strength tallies. At the 2:40 mark, Tyler Graovac would score his second goal of the season followed by Thomas Nesbitt’s fourth goal of the season at the 4:55 mark, knotting the game at 3-3. Then, at the 11:23 mark, rookie defencemen Cody Ceci would blast a point shot past Passingham for his first OHL goal. In the final minute of play, the Spitfires would pull the Passingham in favour of the extra attacker but the Spitfires were unable to beat Perugini and the 67’s held on for a 4-3 comeback victory.
